My review : The Mysteries of Love

I had just recently finished this drama series and I have my own point of view about this series and the castings.

Before that, in this series, The Mysteries of Love (談情說案), here are the list of casts :

Main casts:
Raymond Lam as Professor Kingsley King Pok (景博)
Tavia Yeung as Chiu Siu Lai a.k.a Sai Lei Mui (徐小麗)
Kenneth Ma as Gordon Lo Tin Hang (盧天恆)
Bernice Liu as Nickole Ling Man Ka (凌敏嘉)

Others supporting casts :
Lawrence Ng Lok Wang (the cute younger Moses Chan in Beyond the Realm of Conscience)

Guest starring :

I would only give this series 3 stars out of 5, where more credits go to Tavia's good acting skill and the screen time between Kenneth Ma and Bernice Liu. I am very disappointed with Raymond Lam's character in here. The relationship scene between Raymond and Tavia is very bland. I don't see chemistry and intimacy between the both of them until the final episodes. However, the spice in between Kenneth and Bernice was totally hot. The annoying part is only when she found his mistake and left, then she will forgive him again and again. Perhaps this is why this series is called "mysteries" of love.

Other than the relationship part, the cases solved with the help of Raymond using Science was pretty good. The cases solved too easily, for me. There are too many evidences and alibi in a very short period, and with only one experiment, the whole thing was solved. Everything happened just too quick and easy.

Kenneth shows a lot of improvement in this series. The big difference between his character as Lo Sir, Senior Inspector of Police at Regional Crime Unit and playboy at night give him a better chance to shine than Raymond's emotionless character as a Professor.

Not only that, I love watching Lawrence Ng, the 11-year old boy as Tavia's nephew. His acting is cute and very different from his role as little Moses Chan in Beyond the Realm of Conscience.

Other than for fans of Raymond and Tavia, this series is good to watch for anyone who loves complicated love story and cases solved using Science. Just watch it, it is not very bad at all.

Don Juan DeMercado

Don Juan DeMercado (情人眼裏高一D) was aired this year during Chinese New Year (15 February 2010). This drama has only 6 episodes with the 1st and final episode are about 40 minutes long. The rest of the episodes are 22 minutes long.

This story is about a guy, Kung Yan Tung (Wong Cho Lam) working as a vegetable market worker with non-pleasing look that has a great talent in singing. He was then turned down in a singing competition due to his look even though he has a beautiful voice and his creativity when he has no partner to sing the duet. He was then turned down by his dream lover, Yeung Sin Wah (Christine Kuo).

After being rejected, while he was trying to accept the ugly truth from the community, his dog brought him a pack of magical chocolate that turns him into a very good looking guy the next morning as Kan Lik Shun (Bosco Wong). The magical chocolate effects last for only 24 hours and he can only take it again the next 24 hours. He was then signed as singer and turn out to be the most popular singer in Hong Kong. There, he build some relationship with Tse On Fei (Kate Tsui). At the same time, his assistant, Geng Ji Ko (Kitty Yuen) is after him.

So, how is he going to hide his real identity? How is he going to maintain his handsome identity?
This series is worth to watch!

TVB upcoming series that I can't wait

If you share the same interest with me loving every seconds of TVB drama series, this is going to be something we can share about.

It is quite some times I am a fan of watching Charmaine Sheh's drama series since she acted in The Return of Cuckoo with Julian Cheung. Up til now, she still the TV Queen in Hong Kong where she is still in demand for more series. Recent successful series is the well known Beyond the Realm of Conscience and there are more to come airing soon.

After all, this caught my attention when I read her one stop English blog about Charmaine

New series 花花世界花家姐 (Colorful World of Sister Fa)

Charmaine will partner Raymond Lam this time and both of them have a very challenging role to play in the series.
Charmaine plays the role of  a mentally stunted girl of 10 years old while Raymond plays a totally spoiled guy with money.

I myself can't wait for this. But they are still filming, I guess...
