Favourite Sleeping Mask

I own 2 sleeping mask and this one is totally my favourite!
LANEIGE Water Sleeping Pack EX

I remember buying this only cost me RM 30!
The original price is RM 100, but RM 80 for first time customer
I got another RM 50 off from a Parkson voucher I got being a committee member in EAMSC back in 2009/2010

I bought this on 2nd May 2011 and only use it once to twice per week
Sometimes I love it so much that I don't mind having it every other day

It absorbs so fast on my skin and the smell is so calming

Smelling the gel for a few seconds was even included as one of the step in the instruction paper for this sleeping mask :)

After 800 days later (from 2nd May 2011 until today, 10th July 2013)
*In case you're curious, I really key in the date at the Day Counter. Surprisingly, it is exactly 800 days*

Finishing soon :'(

This 80ml sleeping mask lasts really long and I love how this pamper my skin when I sleep in my air-conditioned room. Even though I have very oily skin, this doesn't give my skin breakout or produce more oil.

Currently I'm still having another sleeping mask, Nano White Infinity Diligent Night Masque. After finishing this (still full), I'm going back for Laneige. But then, Aupres sleeping mask did caught my attention.

Other than buying from online Gmarket, the cheapest I can find Laneige Sleeping Pack EX was in the airplane. AirAsia sold 2 bottles for RM140, so cheap!

What's your favourite sleeping mask?

For sensitive oily skin: Eau Thermale Avene Oil Control Milk (Only Beauty Review)

"It is very lightweight and absorbs quickly in the skin. The good point is, it does not leave sticky feeling on the face. It is more suitable for mild oily skin."

Eau Thermale Avene Oil Control Milk

I've applied for sample from OnlyBeauty.com everyday if I remember to log into the website, just trying my luck. After exams and passing them happily, went for a trip and came home, it slipped off my mind that I actually have successful sample application until Mr. Postman dropped this on my mailbox. Thank you!

About the product
- An oil regulating moisturizer for sensitive and oily skin
- Help restrain sebum and prevent acne while shielding and soothing skin
- Contains Avene Thermal Spring Water for relieving and anti-irritating properties
- Blended with active ingredients for anti-irritants and anti-bacterial benefits
- Skin appears fresh, supple, hydrated and matte-looking
- Fragrance-free, preservative-free, colorant-free, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic

Directions for use
Apply day and night on cleansed face and neck

My experience
Regarding the brand Eau Thermale Avene, it is famous for its products specialized for sensitive skin. I've only try one of its product which is Thermal Spring Water a few times and I love it!

Forgive me for not taking the picture of the Oil Control Milk, too excited squeezing them out of the packet and immediately use it.

I like it for being so lightweight and fragrance-free. It spreads easily on the skin and absorb immediately. It does not leave sticky feeling on my face. I have very oily skin, unfortunately it does not stay comfortably too long on my skin. My skin started to feel oily again in the afternoon, about 4 hours after applying the Oil Control Milk. (I was sitting at home all day long, not an aftermath of being outdoor)

I suggest it is more suitable for anyone with mild oily face, mine was oily level 90000 =.=
And of course for anyone suffering from sensitive .

Price
50ml - RM 89

Mentari Beauty and Spa

Recently MilkADeal had a deal which was RM39 instead of a RM249 for Brightening Hydro Facial Spa + Eye Treatment + Volcano Stone Back Massage + Manicure at Mentari Beauty and Spa located in Pandan Indah.

In search of the spa
Told Tyng's dad the address of the place. Turn out that all these spa that we had been going located in those place that had number at the street name like 6A, 6B. We had to turned a few rounds before knowing where is A and giving a good guess where B should be.

Found!
This place is pretty good even though it is just part of the old shop lots around the area there. The decoration is really nice, seriously much much better than Aura Wellness that Tyng and I went few weeks ago!

Consultation
Firstly, we were greeted and was brought slippers and hot ginger tea. They are all really friendly. A details form was filled and the lady break the ice, ask us some questions regarding our concern of our skin. It was awkward because both of us giving the same answer, which is blackhead. Then, when she asked us what products we were using currently and we hit the same answer again. After that only the lady asked whether we are friends or related LOL XD

Body massage + Volcano Stone Massage
We were given a room for 2. As usual, when I took of my spectacles, everything looks so dreamy to me. We had a really soothing body massage. I really love this a lot! The girl who pamper me was real friendly. We chatted while she was massaging my back. I like the pressure she gave during the massage, not too hard and not too soft, just nice for a small body frame like me. Then she came with 2 volcano stones wrapped with some herbs in a cloth. A brief massage with the REALLY hot stones. After awhile, it was really nice :)

Brightening Hydro Facial
As usual, double face cleansing. A scrub to exfoliate. No extraction for the package, but if we want it, RM20 each. So we go with the package, no pain for this time. Facial massage was really good, but I hope it was longer and more variations in the massage. I still have the best facial massage in Idemisse and also from the facial I went in my hometown. Mask for the end of the facial. The mask done here kinda different from the other facial. This one harden once it dried, not very comfy. After removing the mask by cracking the hard surface piece by piece, a layer of cream was applied.

Eye Treatment
I don't see what so special about this. It was done together with the facial. The only thing I know they did for my eyes was to put a slice of cucumber each on my eyes. That's it. This is really a disappointment.

Manicure
They did this while waiting for the mask to dry up. I couldn't see a thing because of the cucumbers. Basically, they just did filling, shaping and cuticle treatment. No coloring was done. The whole thing was pretty fast. She did help me to cut off the excess skin around my nails and it was painful.

After the session, we had a cup of green tea and the lady ask for our feedbacks. We were so shy and the whole session become so awkward. Not sure to leave or she still want to talk to us. She showed us all the services they have, which is quite a lot. While for the price, I found it too pricey for a place like this.

From the above package that I get, if I come with normal price which is RM249, honestly I don't think this is worth from the session that I had just gone through. But, I shall say the people in there was really friendly! It might not look as good from the outside of the shop, but it is really nice inside!

FreshKon Alluring Eyes

Come to speak about contact lens, it is no stranger to me. It took me 40 minutes struggling to put on my very first contact lens back when I was in Form 4. Yes, 40 minutes! I never like to stuck something into my eyes. But, I want try that so badly, you know why.

Besides colorless contact lens, I had tried a few more color contact lens before due to recommendations from friends. By the way, how many have heard of FreshKon? Any hands up?

FreshKon Alluring Eyes does not only provide contact lens with different colors, they assure to give the best that solves most of the problems faced by contact lens cosumers

They have now 4 shades to choose from:
Winsome brown, mystical black, mesmeric black & magnetic grey

These 4 colors might not be attractive for those who wants more daring colors. But, with natural shades, you can wear it everywhere in every occasions that it will never go wrong.

In every girl, FreshKon aims to bring up the ABC personality
A: Attractive
B: Beautiful
C: Confident

Very clear written on the box, it is sure to give bigger and brighter eyes!

No choice, every time I got myself contact lens, I need 2 boxes!
My left and right eyes just don't make friends with each other, that is why I had 2 very different power in each of my eye. It should be -5.75 for my righty because I forgot my own power. See that -7.00, that's my really naughty left eye, that I can barely see a thing if it wasn't corrected >.<

Here's 1 more thing about FreshKon Alluring Eyes which really understand eyes like me:
They have range of power from powerless up to -10.00!
I have an experience last time that the sales assistant in an optical shop looked so surprised when I told her I was looking for contact lens with the power of -7.00. It took her some times to let me know that they did not have ready stock for me, where I have to pre-ordered it from their factory.

I guess I face no problem now with the wide range of FreshKon Alluring Eyes
*All smiles*

Let's unbox!

The packaging from the top and bottom

Me love the Winsome Brown so much, which is typically something a lil different from the other 3 shades

Before I proceed, I hope my phone camera is sufficient to provide the outcomes after putting on the contact lens. I apologize for the really bad quality.

It is pretty easy to guess FreshKon Winsome Brown is resting in which eye here!

No lies, it has full circle print that gives bigger & brighter eyes.
I used to have color block problem whenever I wear color contact lens. I didn't see myself struggling with this problem now because FreshKon has larger optical zone for clearer vision

With 55% of water content, it provides more comfort to the eyes and I can wear them up to 8 hours!

Here's a clip on FreshKon Alluring Eyes contact lens:

Besides getting to have bigger & brighter eyes, FreshKon is now looking for a model! Ever wanted to become a model? And here's the chance for you:

Clinique Star Tour 2011 @ Pavilion KL

This is my very first experience in a makeover and it is Clinique Star Tour 2011, yup they are back and here to make every girl looking good again

Venue of choice : Pavilion KL
Date: 23rd July 2011

The crowd at the Clinique makeover booth when I arrived at around 2pm. Got myself registered under blogger for free and was then 114th person for the day because the booth starts at 11am. The normal price for the make over is RM 35 per person. See, there are seats provided for some of the guys there when they are bored waiting for their other half

The registration booth is getting crowded after lunch hour and I'm lucky enough that I'm in this wave of time. The RM 35 not only for the makeover, there is a door gift worth RM130 of Clinique products. Besides, 3 lucky girls will get a chance to win this Star search and 1 will make it into the CLEO magazine cover

That explains the crowd

Qi Tyng filling in her particular and she was the 116th person for the makeover, duh they skip our number!

A booth set up for door gift collection and sales of Clinique products

Very busy and professional situation inside the makeover booth
Make up, hair styling etc

Finally after 1 hour of waiting down there, I get to set my butt on the waiting couch inside the booth. At least no more standing outside with the umbrella because it is drizzling outside

Firstly, they will analyse our skin type by asking us question regarding our skin and our major concern. I was then analysed as skin type 3, which is combination skin (Oily on the T-zone and cheek area only). Those with make up, they will remove it before cleaning their face. Since I came with naked face, she cleaned my face with Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System.

Firstly she cleaned it with Oily Skin Formula facial liquid. Then my face was toned with Clarifying Lotion Twice a Day Exfoliator Type 3. Lastly the 3rd step, the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Next, hair styling station
My hair stylist is super young and friendly. She asked me what hairstyles I want and I told her to decide for me. Then, she explained to me that she will only make slight curl at the end of my hair and wavy curl isn't very suitable for me because my face look too young for those curl
*Awwww, she made me feel so happy that moment LOL*

This is the most relaxing station and the longest one - Make up!
Since I forget to put on my contact lens, I have no idea what did she put on my face, like seriously I can't even see a thing clearly. So, I just sit back and relax until she asked me what eye shadow color that I prefer. I asked her to recommend me the color that suits me and she eliminated some colors. Left behind green and brown palette to choose. I was thinking that green doesn't really suit my outfit for the day, which was a really big contrast. So, I picked brown. Some told me I should pick green for a daring try

Photographer for the day. Teaching me how to pose. Yeah, this is really weird and embarrassing for actually. I never do such photo shoot before and never ever post that way before. He kept push my fringe aside, I presume they cover part of my eyes. But at the same time, I didn't want to reveal too much of my wide forehead.

2 types of pose, 4 photos taken
This is actually lots of FUN!

Then we were asked to choose our most favorite picture to be put on the Clinique Star Tour 2011 gallery in the website. He discarded the other 3 pictures *Give me ma...*

The door gift that worth RM 130
RM 30 Miko Galere voucher
Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System Type 3 (all 15ml)
Clinique Super City Block 40SPF (7ml)
Lash Power Volumising Mascara, Black Onyx
(Feels really awww after I read Hilda's blog that they got a free CLEO August issue for those who went the next day)

Clinique's range of skin care products on display counter

This is their range of make up products

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

*First & foremost, let me apologize for the less than half a bottle of toner as display. I have to put it on a period of trial before I can put up a review. Many apologies*

About the product
With triple blend of natural active ingredients which are Community Trade tea tree oil, lemon tea tree & tamanu oil. These combination of ingredients are said to work for preventing blemishes and blackheads, as well as controlling excess oil. It does not only prevent, but it works in combating the current blemishes as well. So, this product is suitable for blemished and oily skin

Community Trade organic tea tree oil (from Kenya) - function as anti-bacterial
Lemon tea tree (from Kenya) - works as anti-bacterial & give the product a zesty fragrance
Tamanu oil (from Madagascar) - to promote healthy looking skin & has moisturising properties

Indications
As mentioned above:
Combat existing blemishes
Prevent further outbreaks of blemish & blackheads
Controlling excess oil

What's special
A layer of corn starch powder at the bottom of the toner to mattify the skin. The salesgirl in the shop regards me about this corn starch powder that can help to absorb excess oil

Directions for use
Shake well to "activate" (to let the powder mix with the toner). Apply to a cotton pad & sweep over face  outwards & neck upwards

My experience
Before the salesgirl recommend me to this product, I knew it earlier that my skin isn't really working with tea tree oil. But, that was years back when I tried out tea tree oil for my blemishes. After so many years, I decided to give tea tree oil another chance. FIRSTLY, what I like about this product is the "Made With Passion" section, where I found that The Body Shop really has the heart to give the poor a job. It gives me the consumer a warm feelings on how the progress of this product was made. Back to my experience with the usage of this product. I found the scent of the toner is very strong, luckily I isn't someone that hate the strong tea tree oil scene, so it is okay for me. I feel tingling sensation & uncomfortable pricking pain sometimes in some part of my face when I apply it. I can't sweep the toner at one area twice because it will heat up my face, which is pretty uncomfortable. But, it does control the excess oil in my face and T-Zone. After a month plus using only this as my toner, my face complexion isn't much improving and my existing pimples did not heal, plus with more pimples popping out. I am very sure by now that tea tree oil isn't suitable for my face

Price
250ml - RM 39.00
(For a bottle, it lasts for about 2 to 3 months)

Eli's "Love-it-or-Not" Meter
Packaging: 3.5/5
Effectiveness: 1.5/5
Worth the money: 3/5
Long lasting: 4/5

Total: 12/15

This product might not work for me but I have seen a lot people that has positive feedback for tea tree oil

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection

Courtesy to the blog post contest held by Nuffnang, not only I got to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides premiere screening few days earlier than its screening (16th May 2011), very lucky of me that I won myself 3 bottles of OPI Pirates of the Caribbean limited edition

Pirates of the Caribbean collection has 6 different colours to choose from or you can just have it ALL

This is the 6 Pirates of Caribbean collection nail polishes with a special top coat!
Pirates have always give me an impression of bold, gloomy and mysterious colour, but for this time OPI comes up with a collection of pastel colour for the Pirates theme which I find it a bit different from what I expect

But I love that they give name to each of the color which is pretty cute

The nail polish colour without the top coat is on the right
On the left, it has coated with Silver Shatter Top Coat

3 random colours out of the 6 in the collection, courtesy of Nuffnang & OPI
Up to my living, this is my first ever OPI nail polish!

Lets see how it looks on my nails
WARNING: I suck in applying nail polish, even it is OPI, I might mess it up too
(OPI must have shake its head seeing my poor skills)

 #1 Planks a Lot

After 1 coat of the colour, it is pretty thin for me. From most of the nail polish expert and review blogs, they advised that we should apply it 2 coats for a perfect finishing

This moderately bright purple colour is quite creamy actually, not as solid as I expected once it dry. I am glad it is quite easy to apply and it glides smoothly on my base coat, which is pretty good for people like me that forever has this poor skill when I try to apply it from my left hand to my right fingers

#2 Stranger Tides (the movie title!)

I love this the most from the 3 colours that I have

Grey-green-ish colour that might look a bit dull from the bottle but it gives a youthful feelings once it was on the fingernails. It will be darker when 2 coats are applied. This colour is very unique to me as I never own a nail polish with this colour. Easy to apply!

#3 Steady as She Rose (A very woman power name!)

On my 2nd & 4th fingernails of my left hand

This baby pastel pink-purplish colour is very feminine and simple looking. Very creamy colour as well. I like this with 1 coat, because it gives more pastel pink colour. It has dull purple pastel colour if 2 coats are applied. This is the easiest to apply on the fingernail, for me

This is really LOVE

Silver Shatter Top Coat!!!!!!

This is the outcome after applying the Silver Shatter Top Coat, I believe the colour underneath the top coat is Mermaid's Tears
(This is not my fingernails. A courtesy photo)

Me love OPI more now!
