Cheers for the Race!

My team is not chosen to be part of The Maxis Om Nom Nom Race

Well, I did feel happy for the teams that I knew that were selected!
So excited for them!

So, what will I do after the result was announced?

I'm going to start my Surgery posting this coming Monday
Now, I can focus my time more on this book here
The Om Nom Nom blog post had leave me a few restless day

Because I wasn't in KL currently and my parents had to change the plan for sending me back to KL if my team are chosen
Now I'm relieved, my dad can do his works

Want to say THANK YOU to my parents for being supportive!

I turned so crazy because of this contest, so do all Nuffnangers
Well, I like the challenge of cracking my head to get the creative juice leaking!
Haha, such a wonderful time planning all this!

For sure I can't stay in the dream ALL the time
So, I'm waking up to support the other teams!

Currently I'm a blogger-turning-into-cheerleader
Is there application for The Maxis Om Nom Nom Race Cheerleader team?
Spare one for me!
*Trust me, I had experience =D*

Then, it is time for me to go back to hospital and go on with my daily life there

To all The Maxis Om Nom Nom Race teams!
Sincerely,

To Doris, Ching Yih and Melissa!
Glad getting to know you guys, this is random, crazy, awesome and ROAR!

Simple

Until the end, I just pick something simple as my layout. Kind of tired of scrolling down and clicking in different free blogger layout websites. I guess simple is cool at this generation huh? For the first time my blog is not so pink, not so purple, not so flowery..

One thing I still don't understand :
Why they double my blog post? I set it to 8 posts per page, then it turn out 2 times 8 posts that repeat all over again
=.="

Put that aside, I was actually quite upset and disappointed with the responds given by fellow Malaysians regarding the #tanyanajib that was held from 4.30pm to 6pm in Twitter yesterday. Initially when it just started, I thought this was a great idea for Malaysians to speak out and get everything back to the right track as our Prime Minister was able to answer what has been a question mark to us. Somehow, some took the opportunity to criticizes irrelevant topics, which I don't have to mention here. Read it up in malaysiakini :  http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/153140

Can I advertise my Twitter for a second?
(lol, ambil kesempatan!)

If you guys own Twitter, you can follow me @qiwenism

Indecisive blog renovation

Sorry for changing layout so frequent

In a very indecisive moment how my blog should turn out now
Hope it will be stable soon after blog-makeover

Not much change will be made

One Step Closer to the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race

I want to be in The Maxis Om Nom Nom Race, badly!

Why I would love to be part of this race?
Good question!
Because I have been dreaming about it.
I want it so bad that I dream of it almost every night...

Let me express my dream using old school drawing style

 Self introduction
Hi, I'm Qi Wen a.k.a Eli

Being a Maxis Angel, I'm lucky
Because Maxis Angel is given top priority in this race

This is how my dream starts

I can see myself running towards food right now
Can't wait to be served, take a picture, eat it and blog about it!

Don't believe?
Click on Food at the top near my blog header
You'll be introduced and recommended all about food (mostly KL areas)

This is all the food that I had tried and blog about so far
Still have a lot that doesn't fit in here
All you need to know is that I love Food, I love Blogging & I have been Maxis-er since I had my first mobile phone!

Did I tell you that we get to use iPhone 4, the Finder301 Application and Wireless Broadband throughout the race?

Yes, you didn't see this wrong!

Maxis Finder301 Application is a
location-based app provides you with information on food, restaurants, ATMs, banks, clinic, police stations more around you!
If you are a foodie (like me!),  Finder301 has the LARGEST food listings in Malaysia (mouth wide open with amazement!) and it'll help you find great food around you.
No worries about phone numbers, addresses, food reviews and map to get there!

SIGN UP to be a FINDER301 contributor and you'll be able to share your comments on the food places you have been. Check it out here : http://itunes.apple.com/my/app/maxis-finder301/id375530216?mt=8#

Other than that, we will be given Maxis Wireless Broadband during the race as well!

Before thinking of winning, I did run through a scan on myself in my dreamland to double confirm I am eligible to be in the race
Even though I have an 'S' size (yeah, my T-shirt size) body, small head, not-tall-at-all height, I still have lots of space in my tummy to fill all those FOOD.. *Bring it on!*
What's more important than the stomach now?
The center of creativity - The Brain
I guess this is what Nuffnang wants before I can head to the race...

Other than Food, the grand prize did attract me to make this blog even more interesting

3D2N trip to Hong Kong with 5-star accommodation worth RM 10,000 PLUS HTC Desire Z (1 per winning member!)

*I see my team on the flight now*

For now, it is all a DREAM
Nuffnang, can you be my Fairy Godmother this time?

Time for team introduction!

This is my team for The Maxis Om Nom Nom Race!

Food Hunter Roar!
*I think I need a better introduction*
*scroll down please*
They are the reason why I want to be in the race as well!
Meeting new people in my life

The random people I team up for the race!
My team consist of myself (Eli), Doris, Melissa and Ching Yih!

*You can click on their name and you will be directed to their talented world - their blog*

The team slogan :
We Eat & Roar To The Top!

What inspires me so badly that I want to be part of the race?

My 8 weeks "Nonsense" journey

Time to wrap up for Obstetrics and Gynaecology posting
(15 Nov to 7 Jan)

Before the posting started, people had always psycho us saying this is the TOUGHEST posting
That you will be scolded everyday until you cried

I'm sort of immune even though I was told "Nonsense!" by Prof Z

My "Nonsense" journey for 8 weeks

Suturing workshop which I totally sucks at it
But it was fun!
I still have no idea about the knot

Green ward Operation Theatre (OT) day is every Tuesday
This is me in ladies changing room before stepping into the freezing theatre
Witnessed Caesarean sections, TAHBSO, hysteroscopy and LAVH

All right this is weird...
Me and Izzati, my running friend
Outside the theatre

Hospital UKM Labour Room
Where we need to rotate our shift either 7am to 7pm OR 7pm to 7am
This place reminds me of all the smell of liquor, blood and meconium!

This is how the labour room looks like
My shift members : Janaki and Hajar
As you can see, there is door, curtain, chair...
That bed is for pregnant woman to give birth
On the right is a warmer, where we put the baby after he/she was born to prevent hypothermia
The computer is for us to look at partogram of the patient and also the other patients in other room
There are still lots of stuff in here to tell
This is where those baby first welcome to the world

In lecture hall where the lecturers always late
Ooopps!

Ending my posting having a patient called Siling Bocor on the bed I'm responsible to look after

All thanks to my supervisor, Prof Hatta and all my other group members throughout these 8 weeks!

1 week break before we head of to our last posting for 3rd year - Surgery!

Dumped song challenge 2

No explanation needed

Day 21: A song that I listen to when I'm happy
Anyway You Want It / Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' - Glee casts
They really rock this mash up!

Day 22: A song that I listen when I'm sad
When You're Gone - Avril Lavigne

Day 23: A song that I want to play in my wedding
Faithfully - Glee casts
Don't even know why!

Day 24: A song that I wan to play in my funeral
I'll Be There - Michael Jackson
Well, I might be gone, I will always be there for those I care

Day 25: A song that makes me laugh
It's My Life / Confessions - Glee casts
I always laugh when I see Finn's restless face and how they dance and kick!

Day 26: A song that I can play on an instrument
Hmm...
Sonatina? Clementi?

Day 27: A song that I wish I could play
Beauty and the Beast
Heard the pianist in Garden played last night, it was a pretty piece

Day 28: A song that makes me guilty
I never feel guilty listening to song, not I'm the one singing pun

Premiere Screening & Garden Cafe

A very messy way for Connie and I yesterday from Taman Midah to e@Curve

All thanks to Nuffnang for 2 tickets to premiere screening for Season of the Witch in Cathay Cineplex at e@Curve
I brought Connie with me!
Skipped about how we get there by a super pricey executive taxi in a rainy days with jam in almost every road in KL

I'm not good in doing a movie review, perhaps the next post?

Tickets claimed for Nuffnang counter
We just watched a few hours earlier than all the other Malaysians
The show starts at 9.45pm and ended around 11.10pm
I didn't know much about other Nuffnangers inside the cinema and they didn't know minority like me either
=D

Only get to know Kian Fai and his friend, Connie (We brought the friend with the same name)

I think it is my comfortable for me to blog about food than movie

We spotted Garden at The Street linking The Curve and e@Curve
A very romantic and nicely decorated lifestyle store and cafe

Pastas section of the menu
Speaking about prices, I think this is a very personal opinion
Based on my personal experience with pasta (like I tried it almost every place), this one was well recommended and I think the price was not bad

Grilled Barramundi
A great try because Connie risked her taste buds by ordering this
Very fresh and not fishy at all
Love it with the sauce!

Spaghetti Marinara
With mussels, prawns and clams mixed with basil sauce
I licked the plate empty!
Blame the sauce
It is not like any other pasta sauce that taste so salty that you wouldn't want to eat anymore or getting full too fast

A well recommended place for couples out there!
Lovely right?

In the menu:
Why they called it Garden...

Something in the menu
So sweet and lovely

Once again, bring your loved one there with you!

Last Clinic Day

Yeap, it is already the 8th week, the very last week for the 65 of us to stay in O&G department

Wednesday is Green ward clinic day
It will be our last day with our supervisor in clinic
Initially, my group which consist of 5 of us were terrified thinking my supervisor wanted us to present 2 cases and checked our logbook

But, hey!
He was nice throughout the clinic
We were terrified because he was super strict during ward round all the time

My group members for 8 weeks!
From left:
Janaki, Qi Wen (me!), Hiang Jin (Ketua Green Ward), Hajar (Group leader), Prof.Hatta (Our supervisor), Kak Mah

Great to have you guys as a team!

Smile

This is a very late new year post

Been very crazy last few days
Rushed back to my hometown, skipping ward round before the calendar strikes 2011
Just for the sake to have the homely feel

Back to KL and done with my short case
The very first major thing I did for the year
Just did so-so, not very satisfied with myself

Anyway, Obstetrics and Gynaecology posting has coming to the end soon

A big SMILE to start the year and for the past!
