More than just study week

Spared a few minutes of my golden study week to blog, one of my excuse to turn away from books
Yeah, I am home for study week with much pleasure and comfort
Rewind a bit from the time I finished my 2nd posting until I reached home

My newly adopted baby, Dolphin looking through the bus window before leaving complex in Tanjong Karang

Serene sunset moment from 14th floor of Prisma Perdana in Cheras

Went to have taufu fa in Li Soya with my parents
Li Soya was located in Carrefour, Sri Petaling
The taufu fa and soy milk here are not sweeten, we can adjust the sweetness ourselves as they provide sugar on every table

My peanut glutinous rice (tong yuen) in soy milk

Saturday night supper with my parents in Old Taste Kopitiam
My parents' steamed bread with chicken rendang

My nutritious wholemeal pitta bread with tuna and sausages

My all-time craving while I was in Kuala Selangor
3 layers mixed coffee and tea (ying yong)!

My mummy and daddy!

Love being at home so much
Where I can eat a lot of fruits that was nicely cut by my mum
My favourite, kiwi!

But, for sure not to forget, STUDY!
(and Facebook)

3 things I want to improve...

  • Be serious about study and exams
  • Improve my skills on my piano
  • Exercise and jog
So much regrets on not being very serious on my studies right after I finished my matriculation, screwed a lot of my exams in medical school. Glad that I am still surviving but I feel this is insufficient.

Much much more regrets when I see people so professional with their music instruments and the passion towards it. I love to learn about guitar, right now. But, I never been good in piano yet even I had it with me since I was 6. I guess my music teacher was right then, I am kind of music deaf AND failed to appreciate the wonders of it.

Wrapping up!

Finally I can yell "YAY!"
Even though I left UKM Tanjong Karang complex yesterday and officially back to KL again
The major concerns back here were our very last presentation - The Grand Seminar, and VIVA with our respective mentor
Frankly speaking, I never feel so nervous and restless the night before presentation that I had to give my mom a call, just to talk to her
This might sound very lame to some people, but all I want is a little more efforts done before this posting was announced it was the end of it

A cocktail of feelings throughout the 8 weeks doing Community Health in Tanjong Karang, Kuala Selangor
Dislikes, laughter, warmth, friendship, jokes, stress, feeling unfair, joy, love, patience and impatience

I had never been to Kuala Selangor before this
All thanks to this posting, I am able to smile to myself and recall what I had gone through whenever I saw the words "Tanjong Karang, Sekinchan, Sabak Bernam, Jeram, Ijok etc." or when they were mentioned

We spent lots of public holiday there, which was surprisingly A LOT
Nuzul Quran, National Day, Hari Malaysia and a week break for Hari Raya
Other than that, we gone through 7th month of Lunar calendar there, Mooncake festival and fasting month for the Muslims

No more waiting for lecturers for hours, no more air-conditioner, no more day dreaming when the PPKP was talking, no more rushing assignments, no more presentation after presentation, no more data analysis and SPSS, no more beach, no more fresh seafood, no more lazing around.. AND no more John "nagging" to speed up the pace during survey!

Good job to both Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam group
Congratulations to poster winners and enjoy your 4G pendrive (awww)
Congratulations to Kuala Selangor for winning the Grand Seminar!
XD

While jogging in this beautiful place, I will never forget to capture the wonders created by God with the love and patience of human to maintain it
Left : A pair of wings look alike in the sky (captured when I was playing badminton)
Middle : Nicely decorated coconut trees (captured early evening, my usual jogging time)
Right : The sky with shadow of coconut trees (captured at night)
Background picture : Beautiful clouds + clear sky (captured in the bus while traveling back to KL during Raya break)

Pantai Remis
Another beautiful place, exclude the rubbish
We spotted ships, boats and even light house when we were there

Food is a necessity when it comes to visiting any places
My all-time favourite, cockles
Something that I don't usually have, satays
New stuff for me, shark porridge
Killing my seafood addiction, squid cooked in sour-sweet sauce

Jail break!

Most people know that I succeed in jail breaking last weekend
(Note to Tyng : instead of rescuing you using the jail break code your POCKET sent me)

At last, I get to breath in KL air, which is highly polluted
But, who cares when you get to see landscapes, HUKM, my hostel, my house mates and my family XD
Spent my Friday night in Prisma hanging out with Siew Im

Then I realized I forgot to "rescue" Tyng and then I went to KLCC with her
Went into Petrosains for the 4th time!
Accompanying Tyng and her course mates to do assignments in there
It was so cute when they called each other "Teacher"
Oh ya, they are taking Early Childhood Education (ECE)

Breakfast from Cafe Milano in Signature KLCC (the food court)
Chicken lasagna
Not a good choice for breakfast, but I am dying to get myself some Western food

Tyng's regular peach waffle with peppermint ice cream
*drooling*

Spot the differences!
There is a purpose why this picture is here, I guess you know what I want to show here
Only if you found it not interesting

Our ticket for Petrosains was 12.30pm
Out of boredom and we were seriously thirsty, we tried BOOST Juice bars' Energiser Juice
BOOST Juice bars offers healthy and natural fruits juice with something they called booster
Energiser Juice is a mixture of fresh oranges, strawberries and bananas with Energiser booster

Energiser booster = guarana, ginseng and Vitamin E

Their website is interesting with very well done captions about their products
BOOST Juice bars' webpage

Nah, no successful attempt in taking pictures here
The Mirror of Infinity of Infinity Mirror in Petrosains

Well, TADA!
Dream comes true, I got myself the Watson VIP Membership Card, finally
Stack of vouchers inside the Passport
I am just going to hug this to sleep XD

Shark meat!

Mamma mia!
Crazylife is back again this time bringing a new friend called Shark

Zillion of thanks to Yi Lian for introducing this friend to me and I am loving it
Jiann Chyi Seafood Restaurant was introduced in the most recent Ho Chak! in 8TV (Episode 12, Season 16)
I missed that episode but I watched it in tonton.com after I had the meals
That was the purpose that brought us here

It was just a very classic wooden shop house in Kampung Nelayan Sekinchan

It is okay if you are not a big fan of rice, there is other choice
Shark Porridge!
On the left was spicy shark porridge, on the right was original shark porridge
I had the spicy one, it wasn't really hot that keep you asking for water, it tasted spicy and sour, which tickles my appetite
It is not-so-porridge after all because the rice wasn't completely soft
It was more like rice-in-soup (yeah, something like that)
In the soup, there were very smooth shark meat, ginger, fish balls, salty vegetables
For someone like me who loves to flood my rice with tom yam soup, this is definitely a dish to try!
Highly recommended, not fishy at all

This was one of the dish shown in Ho Chak!
Fried shark meat with chili sauce
The shark they used in this dish was 'xiao sha' (small sharks)
So OMG crispy and tasty
It was crunchy outside and the meat inside was smooth
Superb!
Double, triple thumbs up!
Don't eat here if you are not going to order this

 Fried chili prawns
One of my favourite seafood, prawns
It was not spicy and I love the blend of the spices with onions
The prawns were crunchy
In Cantonese, I will describe this dish as 'hiong hao' (I am not sure how to translate this)

Vegetables, a must!
For more fibers...

Another recommended dish from Ho Chak!
"zhen zhong chao hu sha"
Direct translation : Original fried tiger sharks
It was shallow fried with spring onions, coriander and pig's intestine and esophagus!
I was told it tasted better when you take the one with their fat layer attached to the meat
It just taste so weird for me *gulp*
Very fattening dish

Yeah, this is the one I mentioned
Fat layer attached to the meat!
They said it has a lot of collagen, really?

We ordered 2 sets of all the dish shown since there were 16 of us that day plus with tea, it cost us RM204!
Cheap right?

Brain attacks!

Hola!
While everyone else busy trying to figure out how to make a poster and how many assignments queuing to eat their brain juice, I am here again addicted to tempt those zombies to eat my brain!
Playing for the second time, still addicted!

All right, should make this post short because I don't see zombies attacking me, I see ASSIGNMENTS...

Anyway, barbeque's tonight!

Happy Birthday, Xu Vin!

Hey Vin,
I never have interest in Geography and never ever care about it
So I was told that the distance between Cheras and Tanjong Karang is about 120km
I am not sure how far it is, but I only know that I can run 2.3km in 30 minutes, wonder when can I reach if I run?

This year I couldn't celebrate your birthday or cracking my head drying up my brain juice planning surprise birthday for you
I hope you still remember what I did to you during your birthday when we were in first year!
I'm sorry that there is no card, cake or present
All I can do from 120km away was reserving this blog post for you
(Hope this is consider a present)

Happy Birthday, Xu Vin!
My sincere blessings and wish always there for you
May you have a blast!

This is all for you, my friend!

P.S : LOL, I know this thing looks like a post to my boyfriend/girlfriend love letter. Anyway, happy birthday..

Birthday in Tg Karang

Happy Birthday, Sin Jie!

Even though the celebration planned for her was not as BIG as last two years after we were in medical school, at least we tried our very best to make her feels special due to her BIG day.
This was the first birthday we celebrated in Tanjong Karang after nearly 6 weeks we were brought here to complete our community health posting.
Not a very huge bunch of us in a posting, only 66 and to consider again who are our own closest friends, it got down to around 10 or perhaps more people.
I just realized that I celebrated Sin Jie's birthday all 3 years since I first knew her in Kolej Keris Mas on the day of newbie registration.

Let's the pictures speak for now with brief description

I was with Sin Jie to get our lunch today and she bought herself a piece of cappuccino cake in a nearby bakery. I just have to smile behind her as I did not tell her that we actually had a surprise for her later.

Yi Lian, Yin Ru and I went to get a cake for Jie's surprise celebration at night.

A few of the JKM people celebrating Sin Jie's birthday in Satay Hut!
Thanks for coming..

Ice kacang a.k.a ABC
This was among the BIGGEST I ever see, to date
Not sure about the price, have to ask Yi Lian, Yin Ru and Poh Tse

Chicken satay, ketupat with some onions and cucumber
It was not bad, except for quite a lot burnt pieces, chicken skin and fats!
Still acceptable to me
Thumbs up to the peanut sauce
But, I still love the one I had during open house

Birthday girl with her lovely birthday cake, chocolate mousse

I love the cake a lot!
I just do not agree with the person in the bakery using blue icing, it just doesn't match
Anyway, it tasted good and soft

The girls
*Love this picture*

The guys..
*John hunched too much*

Besides that, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Happy Birthday to my friend, Catherine Sen as well. I might not be with her after high school, my sincere wish will still be there for her. Have a blast, may you live happily and most importantly stay HEALTHY!

Love
