Shopping!

Year End Sales!
Taking this opportunity to shop and shop and shop
"Kononnya" I got winning cash -LAH
But I spent more than I earn
*gasp*

I almost bought everything in the shop!
Until I got this canvas bag as my shopping bag and another free make up pouch
Imagine how much I bought that earn me all this so-called free stuffs
The Face Shop is my current addiction
They even run out of my long addiction stick concealer!

Overview of what I bought
Yeah, I know it doesn't look much here
But all this burn holes in my pocket

Cousin's Ice Flower Hydra Emulsion
I love the box!
I love the box!
I love the box!

My favourite buy of the day!
This is the 4th addition in my collection
Welcome Secret Blossom!

Buy 3 boxes FREE 1 box and 1 mini BB cream
FaceQ masks
Got it from the Beauty, Wellness, Spa Expo in Mid Valley running from 10-12 December 2010
So I shared with my cousin

Time to fulfill my song challenge for today
Day 06: A song reminds me of somewhere
One Two Three - Britney Spears
*It reminds me of my uncle's car! This song was played over and over again by the same radio station in a few hours when we were stuck in the traffic jam when he used to pick me up from KL Campus. My cousin and I was so annoyed by the song*

Digestion of 2 weekends

I'm sharing mouth watering pictures again!
Those om nom nom are so irresistable and I just can't stop my my diamond lens Wavy camera from snapping them until I get the perfect
My cousin will age faster seeing my actions (forehead wrinkling too much because I don't let them eat unless I get the right picture)

2 weekends ago...

International House of Pancakes (IHOP)
(Pavilion KL)

Banana waffle with caramel syrup

My favorite in IHOP - Mashed potato!

Stop by in Sticky (traditional hand-made yummy rock candy)
The shop was just beside IHOP
Grabbing ourselves a box of 2 jars Christmas edition rock candy for RM39.90

Seriously this is not a "food"
Watched Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 1
The movie that grown up with us
Well, as what I posted about this previously, they did run more miles than any other of the movies

Next, wish comes true!
My first bite and lick on Baskin Robbins after the movie
I was here chilling out after being tired watching the trio running around too much in the movie
"Nah"
Basically I was here all thanks to Power Over Cervical Cancer for the discount voucher for any waffle ice cream I had in BR
Chocolate Chips Peppermint with chocolate dipped waffle

Speaking of ice cream, I still prefer Kindori

Who want to miss out Uniqlo when you are already in Bukit Bintang!
"Die die" also want to cross the road to Fahrenheit 88 (mati-mati pun mahu pergi)
It is winter season, which I hardly found something suitable for myself at the moment
Talking about nothing suitable, I bought something as well
Couldn't take off my shopping madness when there is something so tempting called "RM 20 voucher"
I even had 2 vouchers!
In conclusion, I end up queuing with the crowd for fitting room and at the paying counter

Dinner time with Kevin in Sushi Zanmai in Fahrenheit 88
Japanese Curry Udon
Only one word I can describe this "AWESOME"
For those who can't take in spicy food, this is no longer an excuse

Last weekend

Saturday (11.12.10)

espresSoup
(Mid Valley Megamall)

This was my 2nd visit here for breakfast
For my 1st visit, here is the post : espreSoup!
Creamy mushroom pasta with button mushroom

Clam chowder in bread
Fresh German farmer bread

What's different in the bread compared to my previous visit were the colour of the bread become more pale & softer (medical-wised descriptions)

We didn't meant to play with it, we just couldn't finish the bread
But the pasta and soup were superb!

Movie time again
The Chronicle of Narnia 3: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
We (cousins and I) agreed that this movie is worth watching at home
Personally I think, to compare with its first two movies, this has the best effects ever even though I don't think much can be appreciate in 3D
Besides that, the story and how they tried to put everything in the book into a film was actually just above the par
I miss having Peter (he's hot) and Susan in Narnia, I always thought when there is Narnia, there are 4 of them
But this time, nope, such a disappointment for me
Can't stare at Peter on screen, can't get to see how cute the connection between Prince Caspian and Susan

We stayed in Mid Valley until dinner
So, here we are

Kiku Zakura
(Japanese cuisine)

On top (L-R):
Curry Ramen, Tori Katsu Don
Below (L-R):
Kitsune Udon, Tsukimi Udon

Sunday (12.12.2010)

Lunch again with Kevin in Puchong this time

Bistro 32

Cousin's creamy mushroom sauce spaghetti
(with mushroom, chunky chicken pieces and poached egg)

Flying up high when I get to eat seafood again
Mine, mine!
Mixed Seafood Pomodoro Spaghetti
(mussels, clams, squids and prawns with roasted tomato sauce)

Looking forward for weekend again
Adios

I went MIA for quite sometimes, need to complete my song challenge for the days that I missed at one shot

Day 02: Least favorite song
Unbreak My Heart - Toni Braxton
*Too emotional, I just can't bear with it. Feel like just tell her to go on with her wounded heart and let go*

Day 03: A song that makes you happy
We're All in this Together - High School Musical casts
*I like the atmosphere in the song, it just lift up the mood*

Day 04: A song that makes you sad

安靜了- SHE

*It just remind of a broken relationship. The MTV was saddening as well*

Day 05: A song that reminds you of someone
It's My Life - Bon Jovi
*First thing crossed my mind is how my cousins and I sang this song and converted it to "Durian tree" song just when our grandma wanted to get someone to chop off part of the durian tree in my hometown*

Sneak peek of my bag

I wonder what is in my colleagues' bag when we are in hospital
Because what is in my bag is so not medical related
I wonder if everyone else is the same like mine
Or only contain medical-related stuffs in there

Sneak peek inside my bag

1. Evian (spell it backward "naive") Face Spray
2. Japanese Blossom Cherry Body Mist
3. Red comb
4. Pink note book
5. Vaseline Aloe Fresh Hydrating Lotion
6. Vaseline Intensive Care
7. Za Lipstick
8. Stolen Vigilenz suture
9. $$$
10. Hotel Sri Petaling water bottle
11. Dettol Aloe Vera hand sanitizer

It just look like a bag that meant for stolen stuff from the beauty care shop!

Day 01 : Favorite song

For the time being, it is either

"I See the Light" in Tangled by Mandy Moore & Zachary Levi

OR

"If I Had You" by Adam Lambert

What I want for Christmas

I have been keeping my eyes on those Christmas Gift Box of facial cleanser range and fragrance range
I already own tons of teddy and my bedroom is like a zoo
Sweets and chocolates aren't my love
Keep flowers for valentine only when true love found me (KIV this)

I asked myself, what did I want for Christmas?

Actually I myself have no idea why I wish to have a Bible this Christmas
Honestly, I'm not a Christian, my family is not Christian
But I found peace reading Bible
I don't own one, but I did flipped through people's bible when I saw it
I did read it online
I remember once I was so nervous (I couldn't remember why), I read some phrases from Bible online
It was a good guide of cure
I wouldn't say it is a cure, it was a good guide of curing the whole situation

Religious matter is sensitive
I'm just opening the view of my mind

I am thinking to grab some Christmas gifts for my friends this weekend
Anything in your wish list?

Oriental Weekend

Warning ahead:
If you are very hungry now, I'm sorry if this post makes you more hungry
If you are very full and bloated right now, I'm sorry if those images make you feel like vomiting

It has been so long I didn't blog whole lot about food
So lack of energy and sleep after my on call until 6.30am last Saturday, I had lots of food after that
I called my weekend "Oriental Weekend" in relation to what I had these weekend

Here's the om nom nom!
Restaurant to introduced this time: Taiwan Dami, Asatei, Tang Pin Kitchen

My first meal after the on call
So hungry that I can feel the hint of gastritis
Taiwan Dami sounds like Taiwan "Dummy"
A new shop in the new shop lots in Jalan Radin Bagus, Sri Petaling

Noodle with chicken chop (cheese)
I LOVE this!
Even though the portion of the noodle isn't that big, it was satisfying
The soup is not salty
There are carrots, radish, onions, fried onions, cabbage and lots more you can see in there
I clear off all the soup!

Chessy chicken chop
I love the taste of the orange color spices they peppered on top of the chicken
It was unexpectedly crunchy!
Now I'm craving for this

Sunday lunch with my cousins, uncle and Kevin
Asatei
The address is there, it was situated at the same row of shop lots as Taiwan Dami
They served both chinese dim sum and japanese dim sum (sushi)

This is what they first served us when we were just about to settle down on a table
Very hygienic
My first impression on this new restaurant was really good

Char siew pau (Roast pork steamed bun)
This is very small but the char siew was pretty good

My favorite from this restaurant
Siu long pau (Shanghai steamed meat dumpling)
I love biting a small hole then slurped in all the juice inside the pau
This is very small, dislike the one in i-Dragon

Nai yao pau (Custard pau)
I'm not a big fan of custard, for me this dish was just so so

This is one very pity looking har gao (Shrimp dumpling)
Most of the dim sum here were mini size
So, I guess they just make you order more

Here comes the Japanese Cuisine part
Inari
It was OK and the size is bigger than Sushi King's inari
It looked good until a bite of it, the rice inside got so loose
I think they still need to brush up their skills in producing Japanese food

Tamago
This wasn't satisfying for me
So so only-LAH
(A very reluctant so-so for this)

Kitsune Udon
The bowl is nice, the decoration of the food is nice
The food is not nice!
The soup was very bland, the fried bean curds tasted so weird
It will make people feel full but not satisfying at all

Curry Katsu
Look at the curry before I tell you how it tasted
Any Japanese food lover will look at the curry twice once it was served
Then, everyone starts to take the spoon to taste the curry because it looked just so weird
It tasted like Indian Curry with kunyit and strong weird spices
The appetite to eat curry katsu gone after tasting the curry
I couldn't finish this, I just took all the chicken
The rice is hard and cold as well..
Ewww

The good hygienic impression went jet speed down because of the food
The food here isn't cheap, anyway

Due to super unsatisfying lunch in Asatei, we moved to another shop nearby at the same row
Tang Pin Kitchen

This "kitchen" served different types of desser (tong sui) everyday
This is what I had, Barley Fu Chuk
Good one for my sore throat

Sai dao yu yuen (Wolf-herring fish ball)
This one tasted GOOD
Hardly find this one in KL
I still love the one in Yong Peng, Johor

Okay, I forgot what did this called
It was fried fish meat in popiah style and was wrapped again by the chee cheong fun
They were juicy!
Love love..

Wo Tip (minced pork and vegetables wrapped in fried wheat flour)
My cousin loves this one
For me it was a bit dry, but it doesn't affect the taste, still good

 Fish cakes!
This is one plain dish but very satisfying
Not very salty
Overall, GOOD!

Cousins looking at the tong sui "billboard" in the shop

Surely you guys will think "Sore throat still eat so much!"

ESZ 2010 & ChurpChurp

It was my group's turn to take over the night shift in the labour room again last night from 7pm to 7am
It was a hopeless starts when we were in there at 7.30pm
Don't ask why we were late

Looking through the board, only 2 mother-to-be and there were seniors waiting to conduct
7 of us in a group had nothing better to do, so we joined some husbands at the waiting area chatting with each other trying to annoy those nervous husbands

Left to right: Alison, (Yu Zhen, Juin Yi, Yi Rong), Cimolens, Stephenie, (Christina, Matthew, Prisca)

Talent time for English Speaking Zone was held in Auditorium
I sneaked out from my shift and went all to way there to support my friends
Once I reached there, the event was so GRAND
Dean of Faculty of Medicine, UKM was giving his speech and officiated the event
Then I was told that I got to go up the stage as well later to receive my prize for scrabble competition

I was like "No, somebody must go up the stage for me"
Looking at my casual ALL BLACK attire from my hair to my ballet pump
This was just so random

Speaking about the talent time competition, I saluted all of the finale contestants for their courages and impressed for their talents
Not only they sing, some of them even play music instruments
Medical students are not nerd k?

All right, my blog is public but this is a place to put my view together as well
Once the performance ended, I already had Stephenie and Alison in my Top 2 list
(for those who were there during the competition and those who know them)
I play music instrument as well, I know well how tough it is to actually sing and play at the same time PLUS standing in front of the crowd
Not only both of them got the "sing+play" talent, they have the vocal power

It was a disappointment to me actually when they announced the Top 3 winners
Thank God, Stephenie managed to win the competition
Yes, her singing was so mesmerizing that I feel like crying if she kept on singing
What's disappointing was I don't get it why Alison didn't make it!
I guess I'm not the only one feeling this way
I'm sorry to say, I guess the judges just didn't know how to appreciate vocal power
What they see was all the surface of the performance which doesn't suggest the ART of MUSIC
Anyway, Alison is already a winner in all of us!

P.S - I don't get what's the problem if we sing in American slang when the songs origin from America. Perhaps what they want was to sing in British or Manglish slang.

The finalists listening to comments from judges

Prof Sharir sang "You Raised Me Up" by Josh Groban

Left: English Speaking Zone (ESZ) 2009 during my 1st year
Right: Yesterday ESZ 2010 in my 3rd year
Shalisha (middle) still stay as the Queen of Scrabble!

Left: My prize!
Right: Scrabble in Action!

Ah yes, got an email from ChurpChurp!

Fortune luck this week, I guess!

This is the post : Be Part of ChurpChurp Today!

Continue with what happened in my night shift
A lot of delivery after 1am, which i was grateful that I didn't choose to go back earlier
Until there is only one baby still refusing to come out
So, we slept at on the sofa at the waiting area, the air conditioner was super cold
The midwives and housemen were all asleep in the counter
Some even slept on the bed in the labour room
Finally everyone woke up when the mommy felt the contraction and pain
A baby boy was born and end of our shift!

All mommy had their baby delivered!
Shift ended at 6.30am

Now I'm having sore throat!

Love
