My Sister of Eternal Flower Review

Hong Kong and Astro had just finish airing My Sister of Eternal Flower (花花世界花家姐), with the 20th episode as the finale of this series. I, myself had just finished the final episode 1 day later due to waiting for the upload is up for me to download the series

I have been waiting for quite some time for the release of this movie since August last year. I even blog about it, just imagine how excited I was, this is the post HERE

Main reason I wanted to watch this series. I'm a big fan of Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) but not so much of Raymond Lam (林峰) and both of the are really great actors together. What caught my attention most was Charmaine is going to act as a girl with 10-year old IQ, which is pretty much challenging for her to attract the audience. It was nice to see the comeback of Raymond Lam after his below the par character in Mysteries of Love which won him 2 awards

I love the chemistry between the both of them in the series. Luckily the series were made 20 episodes as I found it getting boring after awhile and its storyline wasn't meant to be long and draggy. Not much of lessons to instill in the story except to tell the audience that there is no way to escape true love and the respect towards everybody in this world regardless of their disabilities

It was surprisingly unexpected for me that they pair up Pierre Ngo (敖嘉年) & Toby Leung (梁靖琪) as the supporting actor and actress, which I hardly imagine the bond between the both of them. No doubt Pierre has good acting skill, as portrayed in his many series before. Toby Leung has much improvement and screen time in this series, which is an opportunity for her to get more series in her hands

Another hardworking star was seen in the series which recently appeared in quite a lot of TVB series, Yoyo Chen (陈自瑶). She had minor role in most of her previous series and this series has give her a great opportunity to show her skills off which is pretty good. She is amazingly gorgeous!

Overall, this series starts off looking forward and very curious on how Raymond trying to accept Charmaine in his daily life. But after that, the series starts to bore me out with Raymond's indecisive character that was somewhat pissed me off. Perhaps, this is one of the way to show the audience that he has grow up in a pampered family that make decision all the time for him. Charmaine's character can be very cute, innocent and annoying at times. I found the IQ of the character was made too naive compared to the IQ of a 10-year old kid nowadays. Her acting and communication shown was somewhat of the IQ of someone younger than 10-year old kid. The fairytale story line was very much expected, which somehow this series did not amaze me much after all. The whole series was expected what will happen next and left a very little space of curiosity

If to rate this series for my personal view, it would give 6/10 credit more to the acting skills and the casts list than the story line itself. Not to forget, I'm still very impressed by the Pig Pig  in the series

Currently watching: Ghetto Justice (怒火街头)
